That saying "If you can draw a circle, you can draw anything"---is a powerful saying...I agree. But it can also serve as an absolutely PERFECT sabotage for anyone who feels that they CANNOT draw a circle...which would be maybe 99.999999999% of people on earth----with the possible exception of Leonardo.
Besides, is there anything in nature that is a perfect circle anyway? I dont think even the planets are.
So if you cant do a circle---who cares?
Allen, your work is really fantastic! I love it! Keep up the work----show us more! Thanks Dude!!! Don Faast

This is Allen's Post!Above, Allen said "Im not much of an artist..." From now on...Maestro Allen----you are to say "I am an artist...blah blah...!" Got it? (smile!!) Your work is wonderful...and you have tons of talent! And now that we have the Pappa Cat and the Momma Cat...lets see what the baby cat-cats will look like---OK Allen? Cant wait! (And Allen, did you have a chance to read my short book? I would LOVE to see how you would apply what I said in the book to the magnificent stuff you are doing with MS Paint! Go for it. Don Faast Thanks, Don. That means a lot. And I did read it, but I'm going to have to read it yet again. I really enjoyed it. There's a lot of good stuff in there for aspiring artists, and it can be used by writers as well I think. Thanks again! And don't we all aspire to be Leonardo? *LOL*

Hey Jaqueline....here is a kindergarten rule on shadowing that I just made up:
"If the light can see it, its lighter! If the light cant see it...its darker."
Is that oversimplified----or does it help?
The best way to observe shadows is to make your room dark...and turn on a light that is more direct...like a flashlight or lamp...and hold different objects up to that source. Notice what happens-----if the light "kaint" see it---it aint light!
Let me know what you think of this... Don Faast

;D Don that IS very simple but it actually is helpful. I had never thought of toning down the other lighting in my house to observe shadows. I think that might be part of my problem. I have so much light coming into the studio, which is actually the sun room in my apt. Three walls of windows so there is alot of sun. It's great for taking pictures but not so great for shadows. I'll try this. Thanks.
