Winter time can be so very depressing Not like Autumn with its turkey and dressing. Nor like Spring where the girls keep you guessing. And least of all Summer, where for shade we go questing.

On the sixth day, God made Man. On the seventh, He rested. On the eighth, He made sweet tea. And on the ninth, He made Krispy Kreme.

"Autexousious"
Although the Powers try so hard to grind us and our spirits with their dull pestles the day will come when they will surely find each man and woman's - venal and vestal - xenolithic traits in a winged kestrel. Over them soaring in the skies so blue, up in the clouds floating with the angels; so splendid is our free will, so true. Indeed, the Powers will soon learn to rue our potency that they can never kill. Useless is their efforts, our will construed. Self-rule is the law that our hearts all feel.
For without self-rule where would we all be? Not free and that you must certainly see.

Dark eyes. Dark hair. A dark beard. Darkness rose from him like water from a deep, deep well. He smiled from the shadows, his teeth bright with the light of a thousand suns.

“Come on!” Ann Blocker shook the vending machine angrily. The redhead desperately needed something to drink; running her errands in Hagan had created quite a thirst. Finally, after a swift kick, Ann got her water. Noticing a dirty child standing outside as she left the store she smiled sympathetically, walked over and offered her drink.

When you find that book you're been looking for, beware, for you just might get lost in it.

Lanchester's Laws darken the mind With rates of attrition in front and behind. Either numbers or arms can carry the day While those in the streets hide and pray.
Listen to Newton and listen well Bodies at rest remain until the tides swell. Force is equal to mass times accelaration For every action, a reaction for a nation.
Supply creates its own demand Said Keynes, ignorant fool, upon which economies band; with a snap they break and governments cry out Stimulate! inflate! make the dollar rout.
Lord, let the law of non-intervention take life. Stay out, please stay out, of other's civil strife. Let there be no entangling alliances To mangle our own finances.

Thanks! I'm not too happy with that last line - alliances and finances don't quite rhyme the way I want them to. But, it was fun to write.

He sat in the classroom, looking around at all the people he couldn't connect with. They were alien, faceless except for a couple who had broken through his wall.
He waited impatiently. The door opened, as it always did, at 11:20. The boy unlocked his chair with a smile and went with the lady, his friend.
